Terms & Conditions

By hiring a costume from ELS Costume Room, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

1. Hire Period

Our standard hire period is 7 days, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

The hire period begins on the collection or shipping date and ends on the agreed return date.

Extended hire may be available upon request but must be approved before the return date. Additional fees may apply.

2. Security Deposit

A $100 refundable security deposit is required for all costume hires.

This deposit will be refunded once the costume has been returned and inspected, provided it is returned:

• On time
• In the same condition it was hired
• With all pieces included

If a costume is returned damaged, missing pieces, or excessively dirty, part or all of the deposit may be retained to cover repair, cleaning, or replacement costs.

3. Hire Fees

Hire fees are non-refundable once the costume has been collected or shipped.

Pricing is as follows:

Solo Costume Hire: $40 for 7 days
Group Costume Hire (5+ costumes): $30 per costume for 7 days

Longer hire periods may incur additional fees.

4. Collection & Shipping

Costumes may be collected from our studio or shipped to you.

If shipping is selected:

• Shipping costs will be charged based on your location
• The hirer is responsible for all return shipping costs
• Costumes must be securely packaged for return

ELS Costume Room is not responsible for delays caused by postal or courier services.

5. Returns

Costumes must be returned on or before the agreed return date.

Late returns may incur a late fee of $10 per day per costume, as this may impact other bookings.

Returns can be made by:

• Dropping the costume back to our studio
• Shipping the costume back to us (at the hirer’s expense)

Tracking is strongly recommended for posted returns.

6. Costume Care

Costumes must be treated with care during the hire period.

Please do not:

• Wash costumes
• Alter costumes in any way
• Remove or replace embellishments
• Attempt repairs

If a costume becomes damaged during the hire period, please notify us as soon as possible.

7. Damage or Loss

The hirer is responsible for the costume from the time it is collected or delivered until it is returned.

If a costume is lost, severely damaged, or unable to be repaired, the hirer may be required to pay the full replacement cost, which typically ranges between $100–$150 per costume.

8. Fittings & Sizing

Costumes may be tried on prior to hire where possible.

Sizing can vary depending on the costume, and while we do our best to assist, ELS Costume Room cannot guarantee perfect fit.

9. Cancellations

If a booking is cancelled before collection or shipping, the hire fee may be refunded or credited at our discretion.

Once a costume has been collected or shipped, the hire fee becomes non-refundable.

10. Liability

ELS Costume Room is not liable for:

• Injuries sustained while wearing the costume
• Allergic reactions to costume materials
• Issues arising from improper use of the costume

Costumes must be used responsibly and for performance or event purposes only.

11. Agreement

By hiring a costume from ELS Costume Room, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
